Coinbase customer support staff will increase 16x over from 2017 to the end of 2018 in order to handle huge influx of users.
Coinbase has announced that they will continue to grow their customer support team in order to provide better support to their burgeoning clientele. The cryptocurrency exchange will have 16 times more agents for support by the end of 2018 as they did at the beginning of 2017. They will also begin providing phone support 24 hours a day.
The announcement was made on Twitter:
We are continuing to scale our customer support team. By the end of March 2018, the team will be 16x the size it was in January 2017.
We will also be expanding phone support to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in 2018. pic.twitter.com/gqZW7DhBNB

The need for additional customer support comes as a result of the huge influx of new users – up to 125,000 per day.
Adoption
As Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies continue their virtuous adoption cycles and awareness among the general public increases, the need for increasingly easy to use exchanges will increase.
With increasing numbers of investors coming into the market, the short term price for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will likely continue to increase. These new investors are largely unaware of the technology behind cryptocurrencies and will require additional support.
