Crypto influencer and DJ 3LAU has announced an upcoming series of NFTs to commemorate the third anniversary of his 2018 album, Ultraviolet.
Famed musician, producer, and Cointelegraph Top 100 awardee 3LAU has announced an upcoming NFT auction celebrating the three-year anniversary of his 2018 album Ultraviolet.
The highest bidder will be able to collaborate with 3LAU on a new track.
3LAU’s “Ultraviolet Vinyl NFT Collection” is scheduled to be auctioned over two days from Feb. 26 on Origin Protocol’s decentralized e-commerce platform, Dshop.
Auction participants will have the chance to bid on 33 one-of-a-kind “Vinyl NFTs” that are redeemable for exclusive access to unreleased music, special edition vinyls, and unique fan experiences. Auction winners will also receive up to 11 bonus song NFTs featuring animations that were personally designed by 3LAU to accompany each track.
The 33 special-edition physical vinyls the NFTs can be redeemed for feature art sleeves that are hand-signed by 3LAU. Upon redemption for exclusive content or experiences, the Vinyl NFTs’ metadata will be updated to serve as certification of authenticity for the physical vinyl.
At the auction’s conclusion, successful bidders will each receive an additional NFT that is redeemable for a collection of digital and physical rewards. Losing bidders will also receive a commemorative participation NFT.
The auction’s top bidder will also be able to redeem their Platinum Ultraviolet Vinyl Collection NFT to collaborate directly with 3LAU on producing a new track. The auction’s five Gold NFT winners will also be able to choose two of their favorite dance songs that will inspire a customized mix dedicated to them.
Origin also offers a secondary marketplace that winning bidders can use to re-sell their tokens. 3LAU will also receive a small cut of all secondary resales made on the Origin platform.
Speaking to Cointelegraph, Origin Protocol co-founder, Josh Fraser, emphasized the team’s plans to focus on NFT issuance, indicating Origin is looking to partner with other musicians and artists to offer NFTs that are redeemable for unique fan experiences through Dshop.
Fraser noted future NFT offerings may unlock access to private parties, backstage passes, in-person meetings, and other unique experiences.
3LAU is no stranger to NFTs, having generated more than $1.1 million in aggregate sales from eight other NFT drops conducted in the past five months.
Past 3LAU NFT drops include KINETIK — an audiovisual NFT that originally sold for $3,333.33 and most-recently changed hands for $15,699.69 — and an album artwork token that was first sold for $99 and recently traded for $2,222.21.
3LAU ranked 93rd in Cointelegraph’s 2021 list for the Top 100 people in crypto.
