Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Pro has made its trading app available for Android users.
Coinbase has expanded compatibility for its trading platform, Coinbase Pro.
The Coinbase Pro mobile app is now available on Android’s operating system, Coinbase said in a Jan. 7 blog announcement. The exchange unveiled its Pro app for iPhone (iOS) users in October 2019.
Coinbase Pro on Android touts updates to the already-available iOS app version, including crypto and fiat currency (USD, CAD, etc.) deposit and withdrawal capabilities, as well as additional security features, the blog post said. Coinbase has also updated its Pro iOS app to include these capabilities.
Controversy surrounding DApps
Decentralized applications (DApps), however, may suffer in the days ahead due to recent bans and restrictions. Google recently took Ethereum (ETH) wallet and DApp Metamask off its Google Play app store, claiming the app hosted “deceptive services,” Cointelegraph noted in a Dec. 26 brief.
Coinbase Pro, as well as other DApps, may also suffer under Apple’s App Store policy, according to Cointelegraph’s reporting on December 29.
“Apple seems to be eliminating usage of Dapps from the App Store,” said Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong.
Other news from Coinbase Pro
The Coinbase Pro iOS app has hosted significant trading volume since it opened last fall, Coinbase noted in its blog post today, indicating user interest.
Over the past two years, Coinbase Pro has also added numerous digital assets to its platform, including DASH, Tezos and ChainLink.
Cointelegraph reached out to Coinbase for comment but received no response as of press time. This article will be updated accordingly upon receipt of a response.
