It’s no doubt that the frenzy surrounding digital assets and block chain technology has been surging worldwide. Amidst all the craziness, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome these five talented, driven individuals on board the Blockchain team!
Sarah Maxwell, Head of Communications
As an economics major, Sarah sees the unique value of bitcoin and the digital economy. Coming aboard as our Head of Communications, she has been busy demonstrating how people worldwide can build a better financial future with Blockchain. Before joining our ranks, Sarah was an early member of Uber’s communications team and was responsible for global campaigns like UberKITTENS, partnerships, and new products. Most recently, she was on the Advance team for Hillary for America, where she organized campaign events, rallies, and fundraisers for Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. A former politico, she’s also had the opportunity to meet three U.S. presidents, and delights in accumulating more stamps in her passport.
Xen Baynham-Herd, Head of Strategy & Lead Economist
Prior to becoming our Head of Strategy and Lead Economist, Xen worked in a number of investment banking related roles ranging from fixed income trading, asset & liability management to balance sheet optimization and strategy. Suitably, his educational background includes a Master’s in International Banking and Finance. Interestingly, he was also an early pioneer and champion of a digital currency project called ‘Utility Settlement Coin’ looking to set the standard for global inter-bank settlements using DLT. Xen will be helping us build and optimize our roadmap at the intersection of finance and technology.
KK Mayo, NYC Office Manager
KK pursued civil engineering and dance at Hofstra University on Long Island. Defying the doubts of naysayers, she managed to complete her dual degree in an impressive four years. After college, she started at Milgo Industrial as an administrative assistant. Eventually, she oversaw all contracts in and out of the company, and had her hands in every department. KK’s artistic passion for dance came to life when she founded her own dance company, KAKE DANCE. She joins the Blockchain team excited to continue her adventure in NYC, ready to tackle whatever craziness life throws her way.
Guillaume Marquilly, Developer
Despite receiving formal-style education in mathematics, quantum physics, and computer sciences, Guillaume learns best with a self-taught approach. As such, it’s no surprise he’s able to build model airplanes without blueprints. Since his first position as a developer turned project manager, his career has taken him to Hong Kong to work as a software engineer, and then back to Europe working at Capital on Tap as a .NET full stack developer. A proud member of the french fries with mayo movement, he’s excited to bring his independent learning skills and diverse range of experience aboard.
Salome Vakhtangadze, Software Engineer
Salome sees her role at Blockchain as an opportunity to help empower people and change the world for the better. With a bachelor’s degree already under her belt, Salome later obtained a Master in Computer Science from NYU. Notable career experience includes her five years at Google as a software engineer. Now, she joins our Thunder project development team, with the mission of providing near-instant, more affordable block chain payments.
